No longer a teenager - the IceHotel becomes 20 this year.
The designs are in and now the judging begins for the winning artistes to sculpt the Ice suites for the 20th IceHotel in Jukkasjarvi, Sweden.
These innovative suite designs are sculpted from the crystal clear ice harvested each year from the River Torne and they last just a short time from December through to the beginning of April before melting back where it came from into the river!
Although only transient in nature this competiton draws renowned artists from around the world keen to see their ideas come to fruition and to work with this incredible medium.
The IceHotel is proud of this recycling in the extreme, and also is very keen on minimising the environmental impact of its' thousands of visitors each year.
